Day #31 - A accidental fail that worked like a charm

October 22, 2020

Today, I got a feedback message about custom packs from a free user.

I did a quick enhancement based on his feedback and quickly respond. When I clicked the send button, I paused for a minute!

Custom packs are not available for free users. How did he manage to send me the feedback in the first place???

I quickly logged in to the admin panel to check how many users have active custom packs. For my surprise, most of the free users were able to create custom packs 🤦🏻‍♂️

But then, I seriously wondered! Is this bad? And the quick answer was NO.

It's a great way to let people know about my strongest competitive advantage. Upload and create patterns from your branding elements! Without size and color customizations it's useless to have these patterns anyway. But it's a strong motivator to buy a paid plan.

A big fail that may evolve into a strong hack for upgrades!
